Which dialects does ArabyBuddy teach?
Three to start: Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), Egyptian and Levantine — so you can both read and speak the way people actually do. More dialects are on the way.
Do I need to know any Arabic already?
Not at all. You can start right from the alphabet, and the bite-sized learning path takes complete beginners up to real conversations.
What devices is it available on?
ArabyBuddy is available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
How does the speaking practice work?
You speak, and your pronunciation is scored on your device in real time so you get instant feedback. It all happens on-device — see Privacy & safety below.
The speaking practice isn't recognising me well — what can I do?
Make sure microphone permission is granted in your device settings and that you're somewhere reasonably quiet. If it still struggles, email support@arabybuddy.com with the lesson or activity where it happened so we can look into it.
Pricing & billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account starts with a 7-day free trial with full access to everything. Cancel any time during the trial and you won't be charged.
What happens after the trial?
Your trial converts to one simple yearly plan at the price shown for your region, and you keep full access. One plan, everything included — no add-ons.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions and trials are billed through the app store, so you manage them there — and you keep access until the end of your billing period.
iPhone & iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ArabyBuddy → Cancel, or open Apple subscriptions.
Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ArabyBuddy → Cancel, or open Google Play subscriptions.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same account you subscribed with, then tap Restore purchases on the paywall or in Account settings — making sure you're signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account that made the original purchase.
Why one price instead of tiers?
No crippled free version and no confusing upgrades — everyone gets the whole app for one simple yearly price.
Privacy & safety
What age is ArabyBuddy for?
ArabyBuddy is for ages 13 and up — you need to be at least 13 to create an account.
Are my voice recordings stored?
No. When you use the speech feature, audio is transcribed and your pronunciation is scored on your device. Recordings aren't sent to our servers and aren't kept after processing.
Do you sell my data?
Never. We don't sell your personal information, we use encrypted connections, and we only collect what's needed to run the app. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete it in the app under Account settings. If you can't sign in, use our Delete Account page or the contact form. Either way it's permanent and completed within 30 days.
